My husband was the recipient of one of these awards after I applied for him. My daughters helped out with being caregiver to me the first couple years, but he has been the sole caregiver for over 2 years now.

NWGirl.

Thank you so much for telling us about this grant. I am so excited to have received a grant. I am going to spend it on ME! OK, I know that may sound crazy and selfish but it is for me so I am going to spend it guilt free. I know I can be a better caregiver to Dick and our daughter with special needs if a do something for myself.

Thank you!!!

Aloha,
Kathleen

Awesome! I'm so glad you both applied. I love Get Your Rear in Gear - they are a great organization. I'll try to keep on eye on their web-site and if/when they offer this program again, I'll get it posted here.

Thank you thank you thank you for sharing this information. I nominated my mother, and just got a call from her that she received a grant check today. She was so thankful and surprised and just could hardly believe it. She deserves it so much and I am so pleased that she was awarded this grant.

I don't post often, but, I read everyone's stories, several times a day. You have helped me talk with my father about his Stage IV diagnosis, and have been so valuable in passing along tips, ideas, etc.

So, thank you. :)
