Miralax Bowel Prep

This is my 3rd time (colonoscopy tomorrow), so I'm not new to this rodeo.

My doctors office told me to mix 278 grams of miralax in 32 oz of gatorade?? Every where I search on the internet and both times previous, I did 238 grams of miralax in 64 oz of gatorade. I emailed the nurse back, and said are you sure?? and she said yes. How can this be?

Plus I just made grape koolaid and woops, a bunch of sites said don't eat any grape or red dyes. I have a call in to them, because that wasn't on the paperwork they sent me.

don't know anything about the miralax/Gatorade ratio, but am pretty sure the grape Kool-Aid is a big NO. Grape Kool-Aid most likely contains FD&C Red 40, and most preps specify nothing with red dyes.

Definite no on the grape. I know orange is okay, thank goodness, the only one I can stand. My last colonscopy was in late July or early August and it seems to me the ratio was different for me too. I wish my memory still worked!
I will be interested to hear if they confirm that this is indeed different than before and perhaps why...

No red or purple. I had my first colonoscopy 10 years ago and my husband has been having them for UC since he was in his 20's and that is probably the one thing that was consistant through all of the preps.

NO idea why I wrote koolaid... i meant Jello. and yep, I should have known better. They just said no more.

they want me to do a concentrated version because my appt isn't until 2. so 16 oz today and 16 oz tomorrow morning. all my others were 64 oz.

The prep instructions we have used recommended flavoring with lemon flavored crystal light. Only yellow (lemon)!

miralax is sold in different sizes. one of them is sized at 238 grams. I have done several miralax preps with 64 oz of Gatorade and 238 grams of miralax. Tell the nurse she is mistaken for that dosage. . And yes , you do not want to use any red colored gatorades. apparently it inhibits contrast when looking at the colon tissue, due to its similar color with the tissue.

Yea, I went ahead and did the 64 oz of gatorade and as usual, only did half. I don't know about the rest of you, but that was WAY enough to clear me out! I'm petite tho... only 5 feet tall.
