You know, there is no answer for this Tawni. This is what happened with Lauren, she was doing well and then could not recover from surgery, had no chemo for 2 months and the cancer went crazy. It just works that way sometimes. I'm so sorry for this situation for you. Please take the doctor's words seriously. . .get all your legal stuff done and taken care of asap. You really don't know how much time is left. You don't want to leave anything undone. Do you have someone to take your precious dog? If there is anything you want to do, like an experience or a little trip, please ask your hospice staff. They will do whatever they can to get that done for you. They will take care of you, they will make sure you are pain free and handle any nausea or any other problems. Let us know if we can all do anything else for you.
