I have been in 75 mg aspirin daily since February 2013 - my resection was in August 2012 , dx dec 2011 , mCRC with liver mets - NED till two weeks ago ( sept 2013 - last week )

Then had a recurrence - liver met in segment 4 b of size 4 cm ( at time of treatment ) - treated by IRE last week.

D u think I should up the dosage from 75 mg to atleast 200 or 300 mg ? Will that help to delay or prevent recurrence.

Au advise on correct dosage that may help is appreciated

3rd recur -july '14

Hi, sorry to hear that new problems have developed. I'd not do any "self dose" therapy using aspirin without talking to my doctor first, I'd only use it under the guidance of a doctor. Aspirin can have some wonderful uses and benefits for many ailments, but it also can cause complications in some patients, especially those with compromised health. Let your doctor(s) that already knows your personal health status help you. :)

I'm doing the 'baby' aspirin as well. One a day. Also supplementing Vit D.

81mg a day with my doctor's blessing.
I'm just a dude who still can't believe he had a resection and went through chemo (currently 13 years NED). Is this real life?

My oncologist recommended I take a full-strength aspirin daily, but if I can't tolerate full-strength then a mini aspirin is OK. I started with full-strength daily, but about 2 years ago I switched to every second day. I've been on aspirin since completing treatment 3 1/2 years ago. Whether it has helped to keep me NED is an unanswerable question.
Stage 3 R/C -1 node+ ( 7/09)
5 wks radiation, 2 wks chemo: 5FU (8-9/09)
Rectal surgery: tumor removal (11/09)
10 rounds Xeloda: 3000mg/daily 1 wk on/1 wk off (1/10-6/10)
Supplements: Aspirin, Calcium, Vit. D3
03/27/17: 7+ yrs. since surgery--still NED
