Because, there is nothing new with healing powers I can add to your situation. Of course I am saddened also by your husbands test results.
I want to point out that with all these friends watching your back, you are one lucky lady! Hang on to that when times are tough, it is extremely rare too have so many friends that haven't even met you. That says a lot about you.
God bless you.
Peace and love, Celeste

You are so, so right Celeste. The power of the encouragement and love of our friends on this board defies belief, and indeed has for me since I joined. I thank you, and all my other pals here for the extraordinary support. There has been no more news in the way of "good" today, really quite the contrary, except this: all my lab work from yesterday came back fine, including my CEA, which is stable at 5.4. Thank God for that. A recurrence right now would, I think, just about be it.

So much love to you all, my very dear Colon Club family.

Good news for you!
I am in NH for a couple more months. Just finishing packing our house. Had a scheduled closing but found out yesterday it fell through. We are almost done now. We are in southern NH now, but going up to Mt Washington tomorrow. I would love to help you unpack in Lebanon if possible. I will keep in touch.
Dartmouth is a beautiful campus. I love it there. Will you be a Steelers fan still or a Pat's fan?

Hi Celeste.

I am so sorry your house closing fell through. That's a nightmare. Well, I just can't tell you how happy I am with the possibility of meeting you, and help unpacking??!?! Priceless! Thank you so much for even contemplating that, even if it can't happen. Let's do keep in touch and see if we can get together when I get up there. Only God knows when THAT will be.

I did learn this afternoon that the new doc at Dartmouth and our doc here spoke on the phone last night after both had gotten the written results of his PET/CT. Apparently they agreed on the plan/non-plan as the case may be. The only clue I got was when the nurse practitioner at Dartmouth sort of asked me today why we would "still bother" to move up there.   (ie they won't be able to do transplant??) Usually I'm OK with waiting for stuff, but it's awful this time having to wait until Tuesday to meet with our onc and see what the mutual decision is. :(

Thanks again, Celeste.

I am so sorry to hear about Steve. That's got to be so hard. Sounds like you have a lot of stress. It would be nice if Celeste would be able to help you unpack.

Dearest Bev:

I'm not around here much these days, but I think of you often, and I'm deeply saddened to hear this news about Steve. I hope you can take some comfort in your own good test results, and I'll second CRGuy's wise advice to remember your own self-care.

You are in my thoughts and my heart. I hope all the love that's evident here gives you strength.

Thank you all again. Your words and encouragement have truly helped sustain me over the past several days. I do know that our doc here and the Dartmouth doc had a long talk on the phone Thursday night after both had seen the scan report (sorry if I've already said that). I understand that they are both on the "same page". I have NO idea what that same page is! I got called on Friday by my onc Nurse Practitioner that our doc wanted us to come in today 45 minutes before our scheduled time so we had longer to talk. Today was also to be "my" appointment as I haven't seen her for 6 months I guess, though in reality I see her all the time with Steve. I suggested we skip my appointment and just have the time today be about this mess. Hmmm. Now I feel like maybe I have already posted this.

I am in a fog actually.

Anyway, this afternoon we'll find out what is likely going to happen, what the plan is at this point. It is stunningly amazing how sick Steve has gotten over the past few days. His energy level has gone down to zip, he is now having night sweats and is all around feeling like crap. These crazy liquid tumors spread like wildfire when they take off--so different than how CRC usually behaves. His tumor burden is now horrific, and ironically, a rapid kill of his cancer with chemo is even risky: Tumor Lysis Syndrome in an of itself can be deadly.

Holy smoke am I freaked out today. Of course I will let everyone know what we hear this afternoon. Prayers and chickens, more than anytime I have ever pleaded for them, are more than welcome!

Love,

Bev
