Juxtapose this topic with the ridiculous amount spent on our foreign wars. I recently finished a book called There is No Goat by Jennifer Dunham a former US military intelligence officer . Back in late 2000s, she states US citizens would be horrified by how little progress and how little infrastructure was built for our >$800B spent in Afghanistan alone. This country's priorities are all screwed up.

Absolutely great article!

The term Awareness is a fund raising term with the purpose of promoting the Charity.

We do need Action, and the point about how much is spent by the government on all kinds of nonsense is very dear to my heart.

How about the general funding of basic science? Discretionary spending on science+health research is typically 10 times lower than the spending directed towards the military.

I don't think priorities are in order.
