Hi all,
I haven't written in a while, but do read as much as I can to see how everyone is doing. There has definitely been some struggles going on here and I pray for all of you for clear scans, successful surgeries, those on chemo and rads to kill those freakin' cancer cells, and for all of you to stay or get to NED status.
Just this past month or so, a friend of mine's husband was diagnosed with stage III rectal cancer and she knew about this site since Bruce's diagnosis. He is just finishing up Xeloda and radiation. He has surgery scheduled for mid-November. Then last week, a colleague of Bruce's came up to his office and told him he is also battling stage III colon cancer. He had his surgery and is now on Folfox. I can't believe how many people I know are gettind diagnosed with cancer...
Bruce picked up his contrast from his radiologist for his scan tomorrow. His CEA was <0.5 and his HGB was 12.6, which is great for him. He is just under three months away from his five year anniversary from his colon and bladder cancer surgery. We are asking for positive thoughts, prayers, swinging chickens, whatever is in the arsenal, for Bruce to have clean and clear scans. Please also say a prayer for our friends, Bob and Bruce (yes...Bruce's colleague's name is Bruce ) as well. Thank you!!
Hugs to all,
-Nanette
