Stage IIa here, no chemo. Had CT scan/ultrasound/colonoscopy the last week of April. 3 small polyps were removed and tested benign. Had follow up with Onc and was good regarding scan and ultrasound, seeing GI Tuesday for colonoscopy follow up, but if there was an issue it would have been relayed last week when she called about the polyp results. So, very thankfully NED @ one year mark post-surgery.

T3N0M0 2x1.5x.8 cm Adenocarcinoma low grade tumor
1-YR tests: clear scan, xray, ultrasound
3-small benign polyps removed during colonoscopy
Continued quarterly Onc apptmt

Another Stage 2a here. Just had Onc checkup today......all lab values good. CEA 0.3. No complaints except persistent neuropathy. I can drive OK, it's only the bottom of both my feet that have a tingly feel. Gabapentin did not improve it and so I stopped taking it because it made me dizzy.

As I feel relief for good check today......I am saddened by the destruction in Moore, OK today. I remember 2 years ago when I was diagnosed in May 2011 and the terrible tornado that tore thru Joplin, MO that same day. As I was crying about my diagnosis and uncertainty of all the treatment to come........I was humbled by sudden lives taken in that tornado....in the blink of an eye and I told myself to shape up and deal with it. There will always be worse disasters than what you have to endure.....

So, I'm 2 years out from initial dx, RC, 2a, mod diff. Had 5.5 weeks of chemorad. Rad was brutal towards the end. Then 10 weeks break before surgery in Sept. 2011. Those were the worst for me.......contemplating major surgery - APR. I asked my husband if I could just forget it and say no. Recovery rough. Then 11 rounds of Folfox6. Done in June 2012. Colonoscopy at 1 year was clear. All CEA/Liver enzyme are good......No bowel blockages ever.

Looking forward to getting to 3 years past surgery and chemo tx.

Two years and eight months coming up without any problems. Still nervous, but that's the way I am. 9 monthly visits to specialist, 6 monthly CEA tests and 3 years between colonoscopies. One CT scan after 18 months, apart from the one immediately after surgery. No more scheduled. Have read about the 2 year non recurrence milestone but looking forward to the 3 year mark. Trying to enjoy the present though. Keep fighting everyone!

I was diagnosed as stage 2a. I had my surgery November 20th, 2014. First colonoscopy after surgery was clear, benign polyp removed. CT scan clear. I had ischemic colitis in January and was hospitalized for a week. I've had ongoing issues ever since. I am currently NED knock on wood. I have a colonoscopy on July 7th to try to get to the bottom of what's causing my symptoms. My CEA has always been low even before surgery. My CA 125 was going up but was back to normal during my last blood test. I get blood tests every 3 months and ct scans yearly. Not sure if I will be getting colonoscopies every year because of ischemic colitis. I get my 2 year ct scans in October.
Diagnosed 10/28/14, age 36
Colon Resection 11/20/14, LAR (no illeo)
Stage 2a colon cancer, T3NOMO
Lymph-vascular invasion undetermined
0/22 lymph nodes
No chemo, no radiation
Clear Colonoscopy 04/29/15
NED 10/20/15
Ischemic Colitis 01/21/16
NED 11/10/16
CT Scan moved up due to high CEA 08/21/17
NED 09/25/17
NED 12/21/18
Clear colonoscopy 09/23/19
Clear 5 year scans 11/21/19- Considered cured! :)
