I had three enlarged nodes about 15mm on CT. Two came back positive, but I had radiation so there's a chance that one was killed by the radiation.

Anyhow, I think the chances are better than average that if you have enlarged nodes near a tumor on CT, they're cancerous. Hate to be a buzz kill. But if you go in thinking that and they're not, you're happy. But going in thinking they aren't cancerous, but they are, you're bummed out. All about expectations.

Best wishes to folks waiting for or just getting pathology results. I had a ton of lymph nodes and I am fast approaching five years NED, so there is plenty of hope. Hang in there.

I had wishful thinking but I still had to have chemo.

My initial MRI indicated numerous lymph nodes were affected so stage 3c. I then had chemo/rad treatment to shrink the tumour prior to surgery. My pathology from surgery was the best you can get - no viable cancer found with no evidence of cancer in the lymph nodes. I had wishful thinking that this would mean no more chemo. No such luck, they are treating me based on the original findings, 4 rounds of chemo. Saying all this each person is different, even without pathology to prove lymph node involvement based on the original tumour size (large) lymph node involvement is assumed.

Good luck with your treatment.
