My mom died today

My precious mom, Sarah, died today of complications relating to her colon cancer. Her liver failed and was huge at the time of death. She was calm and peaceful at death. Initally she was agitated and waiving her arms so she was given a mild sedative. Thereafter she was calm and resting. When I last saw her on Monday she was walking and talking to my girls. I then flew 12 hours back home and was told once I landed back home on Tuesday, that she was in hospice and had massively deteriorated. I flew back last night. Once I arrived today, I spent some time reassuring her and telling her I loved her and she died.

Just 4 days after she was eating and talking, she is gone...I am in shock.

Her sufferring is over. She is now able to talk and walk and care for herself. She is clear minded and happy again. I will miss her every day of my life until my time comes.

You will see her again Lisa. Please take comfort in that and also in that your mom does not have to suffer anymore, she is at peace and whole again. Look around because I know you will see a sign from her that she is ok. I am so glad you got to see her before she passed.

My condolences on the loss of your mother. I know it seems a shock that it happened fast, but I hope when my time comes that it is fast and not lingering. Even though you don't want your mother in pain and suffering, that still doesn't make it easy to say goodbye. I hope your memories of the good times help you through the coming days.

O Lisa, I'm so sorry.

I'm so glad you made it in time to be there for your mom. It has comforted me to know I was with my dad. Her death sounds a lot like my dad's, talking and walking so soon before he passed. I'm glad her passing was quick and painless. These next days, weeks, months are going to be tough, but we are all here for you. Like I said, please PM me if you need anything, please let me know.
