Aloha Everyone,
Last summer I turned the raines over to Jayne, CRguy and Eric, little did I know what was to come in my life!
Just after my Federal Disability Retirement was approved in June 2012. As I told most of you my mother died VERY unexpectedly in September 2012 and left a very large estate to manage and it is a full time job in itself.
But the SHOCKER I have not told you all yet, unless you are my facebook friend do you know.
My hero, the man I looked up to in survival......a 35 year survivor of Colon Cancer and had an Ostomy and dxed the same age as me, MY FATHER passed away on February 10, 2013, Homer Dean Dennis!
It is a long story, but the things going wrong were adding up, but one item was a occurrence of Colon Cancer after being in remission for years, he was 74. They tried Chemo but his body was so broken down, they stopped and on February 1st, 2013 he was sent home to Hospice, I went shortly after on the 5th and a good few days with him, he fell into a coma on the 7th and on the 10th he was gone!
To have lost both parents so close together and I was so close to both of them, they were not married and in fact he and my step-mom had been married for 30+ years.
My saving grace has been my twin grandsons who we all say took the spirits of my parents when they were born in November!
One of my brothers had a nervous breakdown, and my other brother and I are holding our own, but it has been hard!
So when I stepped down from leading all of you, little did I know what was ahead of me! I thank Jayne, Eric and CRguy for keeping you all in line!
I hope to see some of you at Call on Congress or the National Ostomy Conference for UOAA!
Blessings to all!
