Saw my oncologist for my 6 month followup today. CEA stil <0.5, bloodwork normal, physical normal, so my oncologist says, "Well, we're going to get you a scan, and if it comes back good, that port is coming out." And so it's time for the tempting of the fate. Some of you may remember my SkiFletch 3.0 Online thread
http://coloncancersupport.colonclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=14304&hilit=skifletch+3.0+online from HIPEC recovery (beginning live from the ICU
). Well, I figure the port removal is just a minor revision, not a whole nother series, hence the 3.1 designation. Perhaps I'll be able to post live from recovery this time too
. Scan is Monday morning, just in time for an early birthday present. Hoping I can have the joy of being De-Ported too.
Will update here and at the end of the thread too. Scan results - unchanged, and unremarkable. Still have that liver scar tissue but it's the same size it's been since HIPEC. Tomorrow, calling the guy my oncologist refers to as the "Vascular Sensei" for port removal!
