A couple I've come across recently :
My Silver Lining youtube video by First Aid Kit ( Söderberg sisters )
with the tag line “I try to keep on keepin’ on” in their beautiful angelic harmonies.

I Didn't Fall In Love With Your Hair the "official" video by Brett Kissel ( with Carolyn Dawn Johnson )
they have pledged proceeds from this video to the Canadian Cancer Society
a more "personal" acoustic version, but both hit the power of the song, dealing with chemo hairloss, in a very moving way.

all these have country / country folk vibe from some great new artists.

The hair part makes me think of Randy Travis "Forever and Ever, Amen"

They say that time takes it's toll on a body
Makes the young girls brown hair turn grey
But honey, I don't care, I ain't in love with your hair
And if it all fell out, well, I'd love you anyway

Another one I love. Video is weird, don't know how it relates to the song, but. I find my strength in living from those around me. In the song it's more specific, but I have been there. Anyway, a great song

Hoobastank: The Reason

https://youtu.be/fV4DiAyExN0

"The Reason"

I'm not a perfect person
There's many things I wish I didn't do
But I continue learning
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know

I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is you

I'm sorry that I hurt you
It's something I must live with everyday
And all the pain I put you through
I wish that I could take it all away
And be the one who catches all your tears
Thats why I need you to hear

I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is You

and the reason is You [x3]

I'm not a perfect person
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know

I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is you

I've found a reason to show
A side of me you didn't know
A reason for all that I do
And the reason is you

Despite having been on a kind of level trajectory for a while
I heard / RE-heard .... cos it is on my car's playlist !!!! ....
the "Best of Bob Seeger and the Silver Bullet Band" which I may have burned or ripped in days gone by ....
BUTT I do own the CD ...

Pretty much every song here is on the soundtrack of my life.
Good times
Bad times ... ( NO not the Led Zepplin version .. saw them live in YVR a shitload of years ago tho' )
BUTT the good and bad times of my life = soundtrack ??? =>>> cue Bob Seeger

" Against the wind " is probably the closest to what I am trying to say right now

BUTT don't we ALL sometimes just seem to be
" runnin' against the wind "

If I keep a green bough in my heart, the singing bird will come. Chinese Proverb

A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song. Chinese Proverb

“Hope” is the thing with feathers That perches in the soul And sings the tunes without the words And never stops at all. Emily Dickinson

..........it is music and singing and art that has helped me live through some of the most difficult things that have happened to me. Judy Collins

Sixty-four-year-old John McCutcheon is a Wisconsin native.

His album, Trolling for Dreams is a more personal one, with McCutcheon’s gift for turning individual experiences, either of his own or others, into impressive musical narratives, some of which are likely to bring a lump to your throat.

Perhaps the most personal song is This Ain’t Me, inspired by a diagnosis of cancer, and the emotional reaction to it.

I hope you enjoy this song that a friend of mine shared with me.

Thank you also homie
for bringing this topic back to life

sometimes I feel I have lost my soul here
with the problems and the strife

what is ... sometimes is NOT
and what's not, sometimes IS

all about the love and Peace
who just takes ....
and all who gives
