"Wake Me Up" by AVICII

Feeling my way through the darkness
Guided by a beating heart
I can't tell where the journey will end
But I know where to start

They tell me I'm too young to understand
They say I'm caught up in a dream
Well life will pass me by if I don't open up my eyes
Well that's fine by me

[2x]
So wake me up when it's all over
When I'm wiser and I'm older
All this time I was finding myself
And I didn't know I was lost

I tried carrying the weight of the world
But I only have two hands
Hope I get the chance to travel the world
But I don't have any plans

Wish that I could stay forever this young
Not afraid to close my eyes
Life's a game made for everyone
And love is the prize

[2x]
So wake me up when it's all over
When I'm wiser and I'm older
All this time I was finding myself
And I didn't know I was lost

Didn't know I was lost
I didn't know I was lost
I didn't know I was lost
I didn't know (didn't know, didn't know)

Lately I've been rocking out to Roar by Katy Perry and Brave by Sara Bareilles. Also Team by Lorde, though that one makes me cry more readily.

I'm normally more into indie and folk music but there's nothing like some female power pop to put some bounce in my step.

When I was dx'd..... Some days were difficult..... But I knew I needed to take it little by little, step by step, minute by minute.... A whole day, a whole hour, seemed too far away.... But soon, sooner than I knew it, the steps turned into miles, the minutes turned into hours..... And now, almost a decade later..... I'm still here...

Thought I would add this song... Hold on by Wilson Phillips.

I know this pain (I know this pain, I know this pain (echo))
Why do lock yourself up in these chains? (these chains, these chains (echo))
No one can change your life except for you
Don't ever let anyone step all over you
Just open your heart and your mind, mmm
Is it really fair to feel this way inside?

Chorus

Ooh some day somebody's gonna make you want to
Turn around and say goodbye
Until then baby are you going to let them
Hold you down and make you cry
Don't you know?
Don't you know things can change
Things'll go your way
If you hold on for one more day
Can you hold on for one more day
Things'll go your way
Hold on for one more day (one more day)

Verse 2

You could sustain (you could sustain , you could sustain (echo))
Mmm or are you comfortable with the pain?
You've got no one to blame for your unhappiness (no baby)
You got yourself into your own mess (ooooooo)
Lettin' your worries pass you by (lettin' your worries pass you by)
Baby don't you think it's worth your time
To change your mind?

Chorus

Noo noo, some day somebody's gonna make you want to
Turn around and say goodbye
Until then baby are you going to let them
Hold you down and make you cry
Don't you know?
Don't you know things can change
Things'll go your way
If you hold on for one more day
Can you hold on for one more day
Things'll go your way (oh things'll go your way)
Hold on for one more day

Breakdown

I know that there is pain
But you hold on for one more day
And you break free from the chains
Yeah I know that there is pain
But you hold for one more day
And you break free right from the chains

Chorus (acapella)

Some day somebody's gonna make you want to
Turn around and say goodbye (and say goodbye)
Until then baby are you going to let them
Hold you down and make you cry
Don't you know?
Don't you know (no) things can change (no)
Things'll go your way
If you hold on for one more day, yeah
Can you hold on

Don't you know things can change
Things'll go your way
If you hold on for one more day
Can you hold on
Can you hold on
Mmm... Can you hold on baby
Won't you tell me now
Hold on for one more day
Cause it's gonna go away

Don't you know things can change
Things'll go your way
If you hold on for one more day yeah
Can't you change it this time
Make up your mind
Hold on Hold on
Hold on Hold on, baby hold on
Turn around, Just turn around baby
Hold on for one more day, Cause
It's gonna go your way...

"Roar" is my new fight song. I think Katie Perry must be shocked at amount of cancer patients who use this song for strength.

God bless~

Getting ready to go on another road trip, and thought I would look for new suggestions of what tunes I should load up on. I love the suggestions and look forward to more.

Thanks!!!

I am not too into music but my teenage son is. Ever since my diagnosis he has been finding me music for the chemo sessions. My favorites are
"SWING Life Away" by Rise Against
Band "the art of dying" I don't recall album name but first song is "If I can do this, I can do anything"
That song helps me remember how strong I am.
Stage 3 cc - dx Jan '14 age 53, cea 2.9
t2n2m0, KRAS mutant, MSS
Folfox Feb - Aug '14
Nov '14 cea 27.7 -2 liver masses
Dec '14 left lobectomy and HAI
Jan '15 FUDR and FOLFIRI
Aug '15 fudr done, liver clear, add avastin for lungs. Cea 4.3
Feb '16 CEA rising
May '16 2 wk break then drop Iri for 6 weeks.
Jul '16 cancer grew, constricted main bile duct. Stent inserted. On break till jaundice clears. CEA climbing. Doing reduced Folfox. Allergic to Oxali.
Sep'16 chemo failed. Trial or hospice?
