DUKE Referral needed! Anyone have a good ONC there?UPDATE

Postby ammthere 4mom » Thu Feb 28, 2013 4:43 pm

Ok, so mom was taken off Xeloda due to toxicity and we are getting a second opinion. Duke is close to me and so she would like to go there. Does anyone have any experience there and can refer an oncologist?

Thanks, as always, for your help.

We've been very happy at Duke and would highly recommend Dr. Hsu, an oncologist who works in the colorectal surgery department.
Good luck!

We really like Yousef Zafar for medical oncology, Trey Blazer for surgery, and Brian Czito for radiation oncology.

Thanks for the referrals! We have an appointment with Dr. Hsu on 3/26. I am praying he has something positive to say.

Thanks again!

We saw Dr Hsu today and had a fantastic consult. Not that the news was all good but the spectacular level of care and his compassion and willingness to treat my mom as an individual and not as a box to be checked, made all the difference. This is the standard of care that EVERYONE should receive.

Thank you thank you thank you to all who provided info and for the referral to Dr. Hsu.
