Swing Chicken, Prayers, Positive Thoughts, Good Vibes

Postby Baseballmum » Thu Dec 20, 2012 6:57 am

I don't post much but read posts several times daily. I am always amazed at the strength and courage that I see expressed on these pages. I am hoping maybe some of the courage and strength and prayers could be sent our way. My husband was admitted to the hospital yesterday morning. He had fluid drained from him abdomen last week and it came back clear for cancer. He was feeling better and back to work. This week the fluid is back in his abdomen, legs ankles and feet. That is why he was admitted. While he was down having a CT scan the oncologist stopped by. During our conversation he mentioned several things, but what I remember the most is his great concern whether his liver is failing. If this proves to be true, all chemo will be stopped because that becomes a life threatening situation. I am asking for any prayers or chicken swinging you feel you can offer to my husband Michael. We are looking for a Christmas miracle.

Thanks

Baseballmum

Sending tons of good thoughts and strength your way. Although not religious, I do believe that the miraculous happens every day, so I truly hope that a Christmas miracle is in the works for your DH. Many hugs~Ann Alexandria

I'm praying for both of you - him that his liver's not going to fail and you for the strength you need to help him through this latest crisis.

Praying for that Christmas miracle for you and your dear husband. I hope the CT Scan gave you good news or at least not bad news. Maybe if he does have a chemo break for a little while, he'll feel a little better for Christmas. Hang in there - we are here for you.

Michael was discharged with no real plan in place other than no chemo for a while. The oncologist is telling us one thing and then they send in a liver specialist who says while the liver function isn't "normal" it's not "terrible" either. One person comes in and says he has a blockage and needs a stent then someone else comes in right behind them and says he doesn't have a blockage and placing a stent won't help.

He has 6 new medications to take. Bilirubin was at 10 at admission and was down to 8 by the time he was discharged. I made him get copies of his scans that were done at the hospital and now we're going to take them for a second opinion. I just don't trust this place. It may be everything this are saying may be true, but at this point I just don't know.

So happy he is home and will be celebrating Chistmas with all the family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your prayers and well wishes. As we learn more I will update.
