Hello all,
I posted last week re: husband with stage IV lymphoma and bad PET/CT. We saw our oncologist yesterday, and none of the news was good, at all. Chemo will restart 1/7. Bad, bad chemo. No more working. Chemo schedule is INSANE. Day one: Outpatient 7 hour infusion, day 2 home, day 3, admission for 4 days, day 6 labs, day 7 back to hospital for Neulasta, day 9 see doc, day 13 labs, day 20, labs, day 21, start all over again. This new stuff trashes bone marrow, causes bladder hemorrhage, etc, etc. After two rounds (ie 3rd week in February) they'll re-do PET/CT and if there hasn't been dramatic improvement, they'll stop chemo and we're basically toast. Then, ?? clinical trials. Overall, this has, best case, a 40% chance of working. The cancer is far more widespread than we were told last week. Radiation is not an option. Bone marrow transplant is not an option. And whine, whine, whine, this stage IV girl is running a bit low on energy to deal with this. All I want to do is make my husband's time as stress-free and pleasant as possible. PRAYERS, PLEASE!!!
Love you all,
Bev
