Stage 4 spread all over-now 7 years survivor

Postby scottg » Mon Dec 17, 2012 11:14 pm

Just a reminder ,I too thought it was hopeless and didnt fell like the lucky one who was going to beat the odds,
Diagnosed 6-24-2006,, holy crap,, i think i made it and you can too. 5 surgeries,, 15months chemo and more,, Cancer was on my liver,, omentum,,peritoneum, small intestine and large intestine,,, Recurrance at 7 months! now 5 years since last cancer seen,,Try to stay as healthy as possible,, excersize if you can, let your body know its not time to quit!
Celebrating my 50th this june and 5 year survival with a large party and cancer benefit on long island ,, raising money and awarness fro colon cancer,, 1970s theme tie dye rock concert with well known bands, tents blankets and food outdoors in park.. i will post in advance if anyones interested,, will be free to all cancer patients.. All money raised to go directly to people with cancer to help with personal needs,,,already lots of people raising $ for a cure while the currently diagnosed are sometimes overlooked and need help, transpertation and drugs.....

ScottG,

Thanks for posting. It is great to hear your story. I'm seeing a lot more folks taking charge of their care and their fate so to speak. Bless you and I hope you remain NED forever.

Dear Scott,

I am very happy for you!!!!!! It sounds as though you have been through a nightmare like many other people here. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming in and posting this as I LOVE reading good news and any and every success story I can. It gives everyone so, so much hope. I truly wish that others that used to be here would come in and post their good stories. I know there are tons of survivors out there, but I'm sure they get super busy just living life. Again, congrats :) :)

Than you Scott for your story, it is inspirational and uplift our spirit. Especially when I read about 50th with such nice gesture to help other cancer patients, it is true, personal needs are simpler but as important as medical part, in everyday life people have so many needs. Thank you so much for posting.

Thanks so much for sharing. Your personal story of survival gives my heart permission to have hope for my husband. And what a great cause for which you are fundraising! When thinking about the medical costs associated with cancer (or any disease) one generally thinks about co-pays but it can be the little things that add up. I live in Houston and even parking in the Texas Medical Center can cost a small fortune - thank goodness for friends who work there and share parking cards :)

Congrats to you and your health and here's to 7 more clean years. And 7 after that, and that, and that!

Hugs,
h

Thanks for your story -- it's awesome! And thank you from the heart for the fundraiser. I think, given the hard road you've traveled, it would be easy to just walk on down the road. But no, you stay here to help. That's beyond cool. Thank you! And happy 50th!

Awesome story! Very very inspiring.

7 years with 5 years NED...That's my wish for every stage IVer.

Can you please tell us if you changed your diet, any supplements you too, your lifestyle. What was the philosophy you followed, is a million dollar question and any guidelines would help.
