CT scan Today

Postby lepperl » Tue Dec 11, 2012 11:23 am

Going for my scan at 2pm. While I have been so excited that I feel the nodes in my groin are shrinking. I really have a bad feeling about this scan.It seems no sooner do I get on here and post that I am better and with in hours get worse again.I think I now have a belly full of peritoneal fluid ( I hope they can see this on can) and I also suspect a hernia. Its a golf ball size buldge just above the umbilicus. Sometimes its there and sometimes it seems to go back into place. I had to re-inset a indweling urinary catheter because it seems I can only pee small drops on my own and cathing my self constantly will just bring on another infection. I actually think the infection is finally going away. I went to michigan yesterday and got UBI and a Vitamin IV bag, This helped to revjuvenate me for a short time anyway. If this ct scan does not show promise then I think I really am going to go all alternative. I would like surgery to repair anything palative that they can but then its gonna be all alternative. Quality of life is just too important to me. I consider the heat an alternative option so I will follow through on that. I will do anything that seems helpful without causing any horrible side affects. I will enjoy my time left with my family. Please send prayers for a good scan. I need all the help I can get.

I am praying for you Lori. Was hoping not seeing you around here meant you were feeling a little better and enjoying life with your family. I sure hope the "R" is doing great things for you. Sorry to hear of the continuing problems with emptying your bladder. Ugh. Wish you could get better right away.

It is good news that the UTI seems to be getting better. I'm praying for a good scan with lots of shrinkage. I'm fully onboard with quality of life and doing whatever will give you that. The heat sounds interesting to me. I'm hoping to treat my 2 spinal mets with RFA, which destroys them with heat. So I do believe you are on to a good option with that.
