What's changed since dx?

Postby Molly » Mon Apr 24, 2006 4:58 pm

I'm working on something and a question came up regarding how people's lives have changed since their diagnosis. I'd like to throw it out there. So...what do you do to celebrate your survivorship? What type of things do you do now and savor now, to enjoy life, that you may not have done before the big c?

Thanks for the help!

:D

Moll-

Wow certainly something to give some thought to...I will think on it and write a response. Thanks for always planting such wonder and positive seeds!

Hugs!

Molly,
I hope this goes through. I am having trouble getting my posts to work. I have certainly had thoughts about this. As an artist, I have expressed them a lot of different ways. I have an image I can e-mail you that goes with this poem. It summarizes my introspection about how my life is changing. Use it however you wish. Thanks for asking us. Sue

Out of the Chrysalis

Before I had cancer
I knew I was your lover
But I didn’t know I was
The air you breathe
I didn’t know you were mine

Before I had cancer
god was far away,
Hidden, behind my mother’s
Stained glass morality
But now she speaks
To me in dreams

Before I had cancer
I knew there was suffering
I knew the earth needed
A savior
But I didn’t know
It was me

Before I had cancer
I remembered
I dreamed of tomorrows
But now
There is only today

I wait
Here in my chrysalis
In the darkness
In the stillness of truth
Superman’s truth

transforming
