Different way to look at things

Postby pstolarski » Thu Oct 18, 2012 9:45 pm

Today was my 46th Birthday! I posted on my Facebook page the following -

Funny thing about Birthdays, while most people don't like to get older, I like getting older and I'm thankful for everyone I get!

I know everyone on this board understands exactly what I mean. I'm almost 3 years post chemo and at my last checkup a week ago everything looked good. CT scan before Christmas an then we are going to lengthen out the time between my blood work and scans.

Cherish everyday you have and stay strong!

Happy birthday, and MANY MORE! I know just what you mean. Most people whine about turning 50. I was thrilled beyond belief to celebrate my 50th birthday, when I wasn't really expected to make it to 50!

Amen! I agree with the idea of fully celebrating each birthday I have from now on! I had decided they were no big deal until my diagnosis this year shortly before my birthday. I am now going to be thankful for every one I get to have!
Stage I Feb. 14, 2012, diagnosed from early colonoscopy @ age 45 due to family history
Colon resection Feb. 28, 2012
So far so good @ 6month follow up (Sept '12)

I agree...when I was first diagnosed I would look at old people and be very jealous! I tell people all the time who are getting older be happy your hear to celebrate another birthday! People just don't get it and you can't really expect them too. They haven't walked in our shoes!

I hope that you are NED for many more years to come!!
