PET Scan's show the cancer in a different way then a CT Scan, both are a valuable tool. With the PET Scans they take an inital CT and fuse that image with the PET images that show the uptake of the radioactive isotope in diseased areas. The CT scan is usually done for follow ups and staging. Trust your oncologist and if you have questions open up and ask. It is very common for me to see patients in my field of work, that are afraid to ask questions. My prayers are with you.
