BrownBagger Update

Postby BrownBagged » Fri Sep 07, 2012 5:29 pm

Hi Gang.

I'm locked out of the Colon Club for the moment because I my computer logged me out, I forgot my password, and for some reason I can't access my Hotmail account (hope it's not just me), to get a new one. So, basically, I'm screwed.

Just wanted everyone to know that my scan was clear and my doc says no more chemo. I thought I had one more Irinotecan infusion, but she says I'm done--no need for any more.

So, that's good news. I'm on the road at the moment (in Oshkosh, WI), looking forward to spending a few days working on the family tree farm about an hour west of here. I don't have Internet access there, so it will be end of next week before you hear from me again. Apologies to anyone who may have sent me a PM, but I can't get at them at the moment.

OK, Hotmail's back online, and so am I. Thanks for the quick approval, CRG! Feels funny for a change to be on the outside looking in.

Man, this Erbitux rash and thinning hair is getting old fast. I can't wait for it to start clearing up. But I'm still ugly. Oh well. Time to get a nice meal and another 10 hours of sleep before working the final day of the trade show tomorrow.

Y'all be good while I'm gone, hear? No more bad news from my CC peeps. Got that? Good.

I am glad that your done with chemo, and I hope it's forever! I have enjoyed our numerous lighthearted conversations. It would be gratifying, for me to never hear you are on chemo again. Take care of those woods, for the next generation. They certainly are magnificent!

Wow....done with chemo - I would love to hear those words out of my docs mouth! So happy you're in that place. Enjoy your work on the farm, your hair growing back, your face clearing up and just living without poison running through your veins. Awesome.

My mother way born in Marrinette, and she never talked about a pasty  If I may be so blunt, what the @#$#@%%%^$# is that?

A pasty is leftovers folded into a dough wrap and heated over a miner's headlamp for lunch. Can't think of a simpler way to put it. Up in these parts (and where it no doubt originated, in the British Isles), they mine(d) a lot of copper and iron ore, and the British immigrants brought that particular tradition with them. Leftover lunch, in other words (without the benefit of microwaves) for miners.

But I suspect you already knew that, Michael.

Eric, that is such great news. You haven't been on the board lately and I was getting worried. You know, we still have to do a spinning class together. Pasty's are also popular in northern Minnesota.
Jeff
Went in for surgery for a cyst on my bladder, and they found colon cancer growing on the outside of the colon. Got to have two surgeries at the same time! Stage 3, one node involved.
