My birthday was August 20. I never thought I would be so excited about getting older!!!

My papa's birthday is September 6th! He will be a young 64 years old (or, as he calls it, his 43rd 21st birthday). Since we had a long weekend, Emily and I came home from school. Our aunt had a pig roast on Sunday, and I told my dad I needed to leave early to study. When I got home I set up a cake that I bought earlier and had my sister call me when they were close to home. I shut off the lights and lit the candles as he walked in. Of course he went right to the bathroom (men!) and then came out complaining about it being so dark. He then walked into the kitchen and we started singing Happy Birthday and he flipped out, haha! He was so surprised! He calmed down enough to blow out his candles! He was so happy... it was simple, but amazing.

My Birthday is tomorrow! Thank you, for the happy birthday! I just spent an awesome weekend celebrating in Phoenix with all my family and some good friends...I get to celebrate this weekend with my friends at home. So, blessed. This my 2nd birthday since dx. It feels sort of surreal. I did convince my mom to put 23 on my cake instead of 32...LOL

My mom will be 66 tomorrow....Sept 6!!!!

I turned 52 on Aug 16th and was thrilled! Unlike when I turned 50 a couple of years ago...before diagnosis...I didn't "feel" 50 in my mind or spirit (still don't) and thought that the teenage side of me that still drive dances had to give way to something more mature or something goofy and stupid like that. I can still chair dance from time to time and even dance a little across the floor if I've just had chemo and am still pumped full of steroids. 52 is great so far and I'm working on 53!
