Hey Rick-

So happy to hear you are getting better...chicken broth and jello are definitely a plus. Hoping the "residual testing" gets done PDQ so you can get that NG tube out of you!

Keep resting and hope you get some good news about getting out of the big house!!

Hugs,

It is a very wise man, who keeps an NG tube, while going on a food diet. It's time you got the hell out of there, but try to be patient, please, for your own good.
Warm regards,

Hey Rix,
So glad to hear your on the mend. Hospitals are no place to be I have found. As soon as I read the first post today(a lil late, I know) I pushed Wifey out of the way to grab some of the chicken she was frying and swung the S#%! out of it. So I guess since i was a little late on this one just stick it back for a rainy day maybe you can use it for a good parking spot at your favorite restaurant.

Just catching up on your latest antics and am so glad to read you're farting up a storm!! Woohoo! Now, just get better and get outta that hospital.
I said a prayer when I started reading the thread and am now saying another one for you to get well enough to leave and have something to eat beside a liquid diet. Herbal tea...I agree...blech...
God bless ~

Hi Rick,
I am late in posting here but I am glad you are doing so much better. The NG tube is definately no fun. It hurt my throat something terrible when I had it after my resection surgery. It is such a relief when you finally feel better after feeling so poorly.. Take care of yourself!

Jello only tastes good when you're in the hospital - but boy oh boy does it taste good then, as you usually haven't eaten in days! :D I imagine it's not fun eating, or drinking I suppose, with the NG tube. I hope they're able to remove that soon. It sounds like you're making good progress - I'll keep swinging the chickens!

HI, ALL!

Been lazing around the hospital room, doing the Jello/broth liq diet 'til this morning.
Been able to hold down everything, no nausea, and passing gas well.

Had a deep discussion with the entire med team, and my sister was present to assist in the questioning.
Removed the NG tube, very smooth and no residual feeling.

Tonight I had first real food, buttered steamed carrots and a bean and cheese burrito; they sure are interested in passing gas around here :)

So after a couple more solid meals under observation, I should be outa here tomorrow.

Thanks for all the support!
Rix
