I'm new but have been reading the forums for the past few weeks since my surgery. I've been thinking about you and your family every day and hoping to hear good news.

Thanks for thinking of us. I thought I posted that he was sprung in the original thread but maybe not. Scott got out of the ICU Thursday evening and out of the hospital Friday evening. We are still waiting to hear what bacteria caused all of this. They finally sent it off to a different lab in hopes of identifying it. We should know more about that tomorrow. The ID doc knows what kills it so he felt comfortable discharging Scott.

He is a trooper! He got out Friday and we came home and had supper. I then started to settle in for the night and he came out all dressed and ready to roll. We had planned a date to go see a bunch of comedians and he was determined to keep our date and so we did. We had also had a date to go to Zoo Ale Carte where they have a bunch of food and bands at the zoo on Thursday. Since he was unable to go, due to being in the ICU, he wanted to go on Sat .... so we did. We took it real easy but we went. Then today we had a pool party to attend and he went for a couple of hours. He was a marathon runner before cancer nailed him and he wanted to run today. He only made it 1 1/2 miles which bummed him out but amazed me. I didn't want him to go but he insisted. His regular route is about 9 miles so this shows what a toll this has taken on his body. We are catching up on our sleep and spending time with the kids.

I really want to thank all of you for your support during a very, very scary time. I am so grateful!!

So, so happy all is well with you two! What a close call he had!! It's amazing he got from being so bad to being able to run in just days. I am SO thankful :)

OMG, he IS a trooper!!

So glad things are working out, we were very afraid for him.
Even though he has desires and needs of proving physical fitness, PLEASE help him realize he's not Clark Kent, and overoing it can put him right back in the Big House, and in even worse shape.
His body needs time and rest to recover from a major biological assault.

And stay hydrated.
