Make plans NOW to join us in Cleveland, Ohio August 2-6, 2006 for the UOAA Young Ostomate & Diversion Alliance of America Conference. The Hilton Garden Inn Cleveland Downtown and Gateway Conference Center will be our home for 4 days of fun, food, and festivities. The hotel is just 15 minutes from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE), in the heart of downtown Cleveland.
We are extremely excited to announce that Jodi Weatherton, of MTV’s Road Rules, will be our keynote speaker. Jodi is 24,has had a temporary ileostomy, and now has a jpouch due to ulcerative colitis. She’s appeared on 2 seasons of Road Rules, and can currently be seen on The Real World/Road Rules Challenge:Gauntlet II.
We’ll kick off the conference with an opening reception on Wednesday evening, followed by 3 days of educational presentations, discussion groups, and crazy activities. Some of the sessions we’re planning are: Dating, Sexuality, Disability Law, Health/Life Insurance, Pregnancy and Parenting, Nutrition, Alternative Medicine, College Life, Employment Concerns, and specialized discussions related to diagnosis and surgical procedures. You’ll even have the opportunity to participate in a luncheon workshop with one of our industry sponsors on Thursday or Saturday. Friday afternoon is set aside for our Exhibit Hall which will feature displays and representatives from Hollister, Convatec, Coloplast, CCFA, and much more. Our closing banquet will be Saturday night, complete with dinner, bar, dancing and JackPot raffle.
In your free time, check out The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Jacobs Field ( Home of the Cleveland Indians) and The Flats and The Warehouse entertainment districts.
Hotel accommodations are $120 per night, double occupancy (excluding tax), and includes breakfast each morning for each guest. If you’re interested in sharing a room with someone to help cut costs, YODAA will once again be helping to pair people with roommates.
Conference registration is $50 for those staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, and $100 for anyone not staying at the hotel. Registration fees include all session materials and program book, all sessions and exhibits, and tickets to the opening reception and closing banquet.
