Normal CEA and Liver tests, Disease Progression

Hi there ,
Am wondering if it is possible to have disease progression with normal CEA and liver count levels...
I am experience this and hence the question

SSrik, caregiver to wife, 36 yrs age.
Dx'd Aug '11 Stg IV with primary tumor at colon and mets to liver.
No surgery as yet.
Oxaliplatin + Avastin for 8 rounds
5FU + Irinotecan for 5 rounds
On TEgafur Uracil now

well, if you are experiencing it, obviously it is possible, buit anyway yes, CEA and CA19-9 tumormarkers are not reliable indications of cancer activity for everyone. My CEA was always around 3, even afetr Dx, whereas my 19-9 is a bit high, even without any tumors.

pog 451 is right, quite possible for CEA to not show progression. Or to have elevated CEA and no progression. So our onc follows it, but it's not a smoking gun, when he wants evidence it's a radiological scan.
Sorry to hear about the progression, we're dealing with that also.
