Garlic

Postby Slug » Fri Jun 29, 2012 7:54 am

Does anybody take garlic supplements to help build white blood cells that make them more effective in fighting off possible cancer cells?
Or is this just a myth

I have read that garlic helps boost immune system as well as building super powerful killer white cells that destroy unwanted enteties...

I take garlic as one of my supplements. My Nutritionist said it's good for the lungs and for keeping fungus in the blood in check. It's no silver bullet, I don't think anything is, but it helps in my overall health.

I should note that my oncologist has given me the okay to take this as a supplement. I don't think I could consume enough garlic in a day to get what I do in the pills (and I do love garlic!).

I've heard convincing evidence that garlic is good for CRC. The MSKCC herbs database is a good objective, evidence-based site with additional info IMHO. I do prefer to get my garlic naturally. However, regardless of how you take it, just be aware that garlic can significantly reduce your platelet count.

My wife uses Garlic regularly. She is currently NED thank God for her CC stage 3b. I have two close family member, ( aunt + nephew), who used garlic regularly alongwith raw onions, ( I know it smells bad!!) and are currently NED for 8+ years for their differnt stage 4 cancers (ovaries and blood).
Luck plays a big role in this damn disease, but I would say that garlic (and onion) MAY be helpful.
My wife is from China and We are using all whatever is possible from both sides.
Best of Luck with your journey.
