So sorry that you've qualified to join us, the club nobody wants to join but are glad they did.

An MRI is no big deal, and should show the team a lot about your condition.
Hopefully you are a stage 2, which is much easier to treat (though it sure won't feel any easier for several months).

Take care and try not to get too anxious,
-Rick

PS: Would you please turn the Caps Lock 'off' and stop SCREAMING at us?

Well I have waited until I spoke with the oncology doctor. There is good news, my liver is good. However the mri shows minute spots on both lungs. So small that they cannot determine what they are without a biopsy. The proposed treatment is to have surgery and remove the mass in my colon. More to be revealed after speaking with the surgeon. :?

Thanks for the update, that's good news about the liver.
Let us know what the surgeon has to say.

Fingers crossed and chickens swinging!

Prior to surgery you should have bloodwork done that includes a baseline pre-operative CEA level. In some people a CEA level is a good indicator of the progress of treatment and/or indication of possible recurrence.
There are quite a few things other than cancer that can cause small nodules in the lungs; e.g. - scarring from a prior pneumonia, atelectasis, inhaling a small bug or other object that a nodule will form around.
Lung CAT scans taken every 6 mos. or so, will eventually give evidence of something benign if there is no change in size; or if the nodule enlarges, then further testing may be indicated.

Good Luck with your treatment.

Thanks for the input jazztoo. I did ask her whether something else could be the cause of the lung spots and she said yes. i remain hopeful

I have spoken to the oncologist and to the surgeon. Surgery will be in about 3 weeks. I am being very optimistic and believe that the re-section will be successful. There will also be a lymph node removed. They have still not staged me yet. Keep me in your prayers. :| :|

Will do!! There are several threads on here on what to take to the hospital. They're very helpful and I wish I had found this place before my surgery.
Welcome to the club!

Welcome and good luck on your upcoming dr. appt. I remember the day I found this club... I was so hungry for information and soooo tired of Google!!! You will get so much good input here, and also hope and reality! It is scary to say the least but knowing there are others out here that can be supportive beyond what you get by family and friends is priceless.
Again welcome and good luck :)
