Dear Ilse,
I am so sorry to hear about Pete. I know you had posted earlier that things were not good and you didn't think he'd come home from the hospital. I'm sorry things deteriorated so quickly. Maybe that's a blessing, that he isn't in pain any longer but I know how much you love him and what a caring and compassionate caregiver you were to him. May God Bless you and your family at this sad time. Please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. I will keep you all in my prayers always. I know Pete will live on in your heart and through the lives of your children. My heart breaks for you.
love,

Thank you so much to everybody! We are at peace! He suffered enough. Thank you so much for the support which we had, especially when we entered the Valentines competition on facebook and won the camera hamper. He was so excited about that. I will really hold all of you in my heart. The funeral is on Friday at 14:00 SA time. It was a hectic day, dealing with all the phonecalls, the minister from the church, organizing everything at the funeral service. I am so tired, and just want to have a rest now. But I don't know if I will be able to sleep.

We will have a beautiful fairwell to him. I will update a little bit later on what we decided.
Love from me, and thanks to all!
Ilse
After 8,5 years living with CRC, Pete passed away on 17/4/2012. We had lots of quality time, we said our goodbyes! I am at peace because he doesn't suffer anymore! He is now better off with the Lord! We will surely miss him very very much!!

My condolences to you and your family Ilse. I know that even though it is a relief that Pete has no more pain, saying goodbye isn't easy. May you find comfort and peace in the coming days. The memories are what you can call on to help you - recalling the great times together, the laughter, the tears and all that life offers that you shared together, and the comfort of knowing he no longer has to struggle.
