Thanks for smoking. :| Otherwise, colon cancer would be the #1 cause of cancer deaths in America , instead of lung.
( a little pushy, might ruffle some feathers. But, still true.)

Please, NO. Blaming lung cancer victims for their own illness in order to promote colon cancer awareness is not compassionate. [Signed, wife of colon cancer survivor who now has primary Stage IV lung cancer .... and he's a life-long nonsmoker.]

I think we should support our cause in a humorous and positive manner.

No need to slam anybody else's disease, condition, or circumstances.

I think to really have people ask you questions and take second looks it's going to have to be funny and it's going to have to do with butts. JMO, but that's what attracts people. It actually does effect many peoples butts anyway. Some of us can't use ours in the normal way.

I really liked Tammylane's #2

Or how about something like. My butthole use to be where yours is. Ask me where mine is now? And what you can do to avoid it! (.)--> then a pic of somehow with it on the front. I'll keep thinking.

I really like the "running rings around URanus for colon cancer":) Very good:)

Yes, let's not blame anyone for their disease, although I don't think that's what the OP meant.

A Colonoscopy is simple and effective.
No ifs, ands, or BUTTS about it.

Yes, Terry, of course I don't blame any individual for their disease. I am trying to make a statistical point.
The fact is... most people do not know that if it weren't for tobacco use, colon cancer would be the number 1 cause of cancer deaths in America. And about 80% of lung cancers are due to smoking.
And if more people would get colonoscopies when they should, maybe we could drop from number 2 to way, way down on the list.

Humor is excellent for starting conversations, and it does fit better with Team FLetch's past two logos.
But stark realism sometimes hits home as well. Have you seen the new anti-smoking commercials?

I think this was already posted... but I do think this could be funny. Butt humor goes along well with toilet humor.

IMO they are gross and ineffective.

Not related to the shirts so much, but can you send me info about the event? Do they have a walking component as I know hubby won't be doing any running by memorial day, but I'd like to try to get him involved... He needs a morale boost!

SMR, I don't think there's a walking component to it, but maybe I'm wrong. The webiste is http://www.buffalomarathon.com/. We're doing fundraising through ACS and directing it to CRC research. The race itself doesn't have a fundraising component, although plenty of folks do things similar to what Kelly and I do for it.

And a quick edit, a friend came up with:

Forget the Tatas, save the Pooper, get scoped!

Not saying that's what we're going with yet, just another suggestion to the brainstorming.

For a benefit, we are having tshirts made with the rear view of an elephant. It will say, "lets put cancer behind us!" And the elephant will be shooting all cancer ribbons out from his trunk untied...i love it. I still dont understand why all of the different cancers have to be so oooooo segregated....in my opinion, all cancer sucks!

Hi...
I think I posted this suggestion before, and I've used it on the back of my team tshirts (for the last 2 years), for a local 5k for colorectal cancer awareness.

"Running Ours Off to Save Yours"

Our team name was on the front...this year we were The Wise Cracks. LOL!

I have to be G-rated because I have kids on my team. But everyone "got it" and loved it, and I always get comments when I wear my shirt in other races.

Have a fun race!!

Leading causes of cancer deaths:
#1 Lung
#2_____
#3 Breast
Guess #2
Hint: it has to do with #2

Not as good as some read but it hit me last night when I couldn't sleep. Maybe too much for the back of a shirt.

Had a good weekend, gave out 3 cards from my GI doc at church. I hope they follow up.
Any way you can get the word out is great. This really is the suckiest disease.
Good luck and God bless.
