Thanks to every one of you here! Peter is not doing so well! Had a fall at 3:00 am this morning because het wanted to go to the bathroom, and with all the fluids they give him. He can't remember (or don't want to) ring the bell for help. Now he is going for x-rays tomorrow morning. He was without any pain at this late stage, now he has pain. I am actually upset. I am not in denial. But I don't like to see him in pain. I called the nurses twice because the pain medicine doesn't work. I have to give him water through a syringe, and jelly and custard. His creatinine was 169 on Tuesday, and was 183 on Friday. He asked me this morning how did he get there, who booked him in. I asked if he remembers how sick he was last weekend, and if he remembers the bowel obstruction etc. No, he doesn't remember anything. But he still knows who we are. But he sleeps a lot. They are giving him decadron, some cocktail of panado and mycostatin for the eusophagus, because he can't swallow. I also saw Pantocid , maxolon etc. etc.. Tonight before I left, I called the sister on duty in the room, and asked them to wake him and ask if he wants to pp. He will say yes if he wants to, otherwise they are in for cleaning beds tonight. His HB is 9,3, he gets oxygen and that comforts him. But he couldnt eat or drink of the sores in his mouth and throat. I don't know what tomorrow holds! But, we had so much grace and peace for the last 8,5 years, and we had time to prepare. I don't want to see him suffer like this. He was always a very proud person - and very independant. Now everybody else must do everything for him. I am off te bed. It is 9:15 here now. I need some sleep, and to get up early tomorrow morning again. Love to you all!
After 8,5 years living with CRC, Pete passed away on 17/4/2012. We had lots of quality time, we said our goodbyes! I am at peace because he doesn't suffer anymore! He is now better off with the Lord! We will surely miss him very very much!!
