That's great to hear....
Lots of people have benign nodules on lungs, liver......
after getting his CT, they found a thing on his liver, his surgeon said it looked like a cyst... it was.
Thank god.
Good news!

Fantastic news!! That's the perfect way to start an appointment with a surgeon. Glad he agreed to keep the PET scan, as I'm sure it will put your mind at ease to get the chance to confirm his initial dx. Will send lots of positive energy your way for good results.

nicola smith wrote:I didn't even get to start my list of questions. After introductions and a bit of chitchat, the thoracic surgeon said there was "absolutely no sign of metastases" and "no sign of any other lung cancer". The nodules are most likely scars from previous bouts of pneumonia. He was all for cancelling tomorrow's PET scan but relented when I said I would be more comfortable going through with it. Results in 10 days or so so I'll update then. Meanwhile, I'm smiling

Here's the promised update. I never got a call back about the results so finally ended up having them mailed to me. In summary, the results (translated from medspeak) are
a) chest: nothing in the lungs that can be characterized as malignant
b) abdomen: some mild inflammation at both ends of the jpouch but probably related to UC history, nothing else abnormal
c) thorax: nothing

And I have another CT scheduled for July.

Still smiling :)

p.s. as a sidebar, the cost to get the records mailed to me from the hospital cancer centre was half the cost of me going to the hospital records office and picking them up. What
