Free e-Book: Glimpses of Heaven

Postby mom_2_3 » Mon Apr 09, 2012 9:54 am

Had this Facebook entry on my wall today from Guideposts (http://www.facebook.com/#!/guideposts):

"Big news! Our own Trudy Harris, who writes Guideposts.org's very popular Glimpses of Heaven blog, has a special gift for her readers today. Download her first book, Glimpses of Heaven: True Stories of Hope and Peace at the End of Life's Journey, in e-book format for free! But this deal ends at midnight, eastern time, tonight, so don't dally! Just follow the appropriate link for your e-reader. Barnes and Noble.com/Nook: http://dld.bz/bqEjw Amazon/Kindle: http://dld.bz/bqEkV

If you don't own a Nook or a Kindle reader, you can download from software from either site for reading their books on your computer or smartphone. Nook app: http://dld.bz/bqEm7 Kindle app: http://dld.bz/aFwzg"

Book description from Amazon says,

"Trudy Harris began her career with Hospice in 1981, eventually becoming the president of the Hospice Foundation for Caring. This collection of more than forty true stories of Harris's patients offers readers an incredible glimpse at what lies beyond and what the living can learn from the dying. Her patients have described to her visions of angels and loved ones who have gone on before, the sounds of ethereal music, colors that did not exist on earth. She has been with hundreds of patients as they took their last breaths and knows the kinds of questions that both the dying and the loved ones they are leaving behind ask.
• What do you say to a loved one who is dying?
• What happens when we die?
• How can you make a dying friend feel safe?
• Does a dying person really see angels, hear music, or see friends and family members who have already died?
Tender, heartbreaking, and eye-opening, Glimpses of Heaven offers a window into the world beyond and life after death."

I downloaded it and read first couple of chapters and found myself smiling as I read some of these stories of death as I found them actually more filled with hope for life hereafter. The book is most definitely Christian-oriented so if that's not your interest, I don't know if this book is for you.
