Things aren't looking good/update 4/2/12

Postby Terry » Thu Mar 29, 2012 10:45 pm

I forget exactly when I wrote my last one so I'll do a real brief up to date.

2 Mondays ago folfox
last Monday I.V. hydration + potassium + G.I. cocktail for severe stomach pain.
These Tuesday went for 2nd folfox but couldn't get it due to WBC 1.2, RBS 2.7, Hgb 8, Platelets 100,000 (not awful for platelets).
Started radiation Wednesday to thyroid. Startinging it on nose Monday because it's more complete and will take longer to figure doseage and have to have the guy from Green Bay come to Marinette to configure the machine.
Wednesday received 2 units whole red packed cells.
Thursday went for 2nd thyroid treament and saw Dr. Cooley after (my rad/onc.) and he explained the scan they did Monday to get me ready for radiation. He said this thing is growing up in my nasal cavity and he can't believe how fast. He doesn't feel good even leaving it over the weekend so they are starting radiation on the nose tomorrow. I told him I was glad about that because it's causing me pain, pressure, constant drainage and pain. They thyroid doesn't look great, but not that bad. He is worried about the SOB I've having and said the lungs look foggy (besides all the little tumors) so he's going to talk to my oncs. about going back on chemo. Said I'll have one heck of a sore throat, but..... I asked him if he could see if it was possible to just go on 5FU and not the oxi until we're through with radiation (18 days) and he said he would discuss that with them.

So this isn't looking good. I'll NEVER EVER give up hope that I can be healed until I take my last breath and after that, I KNOW I will be healed. I will be in heaven with my Lord and Savior and God and in a new healthy body. This I know for sure and I'm excited about except for the fact of leaving my kids, grand kids and husband, that will be hard. I know I'll see them there again soon (a thousand years in heaven is like a day).

I'll try and keep you up to date as much as possible it just depends if things get better or worse. At this poit I can't let me know for sure how things will go.

Thank you all that have been here for me. Thank you to those I've had conflict with, it's taught me things likke matients

Terry, I'm so sorry for the ordeal you are going through! Thanks for the update, I'm sure I'm no t alone in wondering how you are doing from time to time.

I certainly appreciate your faith, too. I find different aspects of my own faith to be a bit confusing, but you seem to have a clarity that works for you.

I'll pray that you continue to be in God's good grace and that He will take good care of you as you face what seem to be ever changing challenges.
