There's a great book about her called "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" by Rebecca Skloot. It won several big awards and is a fascinating read!

I thought this was a great book. I read this last summer while on vacation and also read The Art of Racing in the Rain, both books with cancer stories. I got the intuition
that week that I might have cancer, one of those weird feelings. I was having issues then and got my diagnosis two weeks later.

That's spooky. I got goosebumps reading your post.

Amazing book and story. Very sad when taken from the viewpoint of patient privacy - sure highlights how things have changed, but also uplifting to know what a difference her cells have made in all of our lives. She truly is immortal.

Both are very interesting, well-written books. If you search through the archives for NPR's "Fresh Air" podcasts, you can find interviews with the authors. Amazing back stories in both cases.
