cancer back have a pelvic tumour

Postby jo armitage » Thu Feb 09, 2012 5:42 pm

Cancer back after 3 1/2 years have a 2.5cm tumour in my pelvis and one small lung met, they do not think surgery is possible with pelvic tumours because of nerves and arteries but they are looking at this, if not it will be oxyplatin and xeloda to see if its can shrink and then look again at surgery which is my only possible chance of a cure though not likely anyone been through the same?

So sorry to hear this, Jo, especially after so long a time NED.
Best of luck on the Xelox, and keep us informed of your progress.

Hi Jo,
Sorry to hear this. One of the English Professors of our Durban University had a 10 cm tumor in her pelvis. And then another MD Professor took out that tumor. She was clean after that for a long time. I suppose it does depends on the arteries etc.

Hope Xeloda works. It works for my hubby currently, just to keep things a bit stable. He had all the chemo's available. Starting at first line again.

Regards and love
After 8,5 years living with CRC, Pete passed away on 17/4/2012. We had lots of quality time, we said our goodbyes! I am at peace because he doesn't suffer anymore! He is now better off with the Lord! We will surely miss him very very much!!

Ive had a tumor on my pelvic sidewall for years. The first surgery could not locate it. The second found it hidden behind a mat of blood.vessels and lymph nodes, too dangerous for removal. But I had Proton therapy which seems to have been effective. If theres a Proton center near you its definitely worth a try if you have one near you.
