I Googled "Pat Steer Obituary" and came up with what ran in the Syracuse paper. Unfortunately, they had a really crappy photograph and I noticed that her family held a memorial service at a church, which I supposed had our friend rolling over in her grave. The obit was pretty good--maybe she wrote it.

This was written by one of Pat's friends. It took me awhile to read it because the pain was still pretty raw for me when I first saw it posted, but it's a very nice piece about their friendship.

And yeah, yikes more like - a church service for Pat!

This is the link to her obituary. In lieu of flowers there are two organizations listed that were dear to her heart that the family requested donations be sent in her honor.

Actually, believe it or not, Pat knew about the service (or at least suspected it - not sure if it was planned) and told me she was ok with it.
Things can change in people's minds all the time.
BTW - Pat told me once she was raised Catholic so the service was no surprise.

Larry Edge from Kentucky. His wonderful wife, Anji, was the one who shared the journey with all of us.

In sharing the news, Anji wrote, "He finished the race with grace, strength and dignity and is now whole, healed and with his Saviour. He was surrounded by friends and family, and his actual moment of death was beautiful."

DX 1/10
Died 8-5-12

We will all remember how Larry found the strength to walk his daughter down the aisle.

RIP Larry

I am so sorry about your husband, Jessica. You have beautiful children, I cannot imagine how sad and in shock you all are. Joe sounds like he was a very strong man and he fought so hard. Your story is a tragedy and so incredibly unfair. I wish you all the best as you move forward and try to find a way through it all without the love of your life. Even though he is not here physically, I believe his spirit is with you and that you and your children will continue to feel his love.
God Bless you and your young family, always.

I am sad for all that have passed from this disease, most recently in this past year. May peace be with all of their families.

I'm not sure how to say this so I don't upset anyone. This thread is basically just to list the people who have passed of this awful disease in 2012. Almost all have had separate threads when the person passed away in which people can post their condolences. You can always PM the person (spouse, friend, etc.). This should be a simple thread just listing individual's names and a little about them and their journey. If someone has an obit weblink to add, or a photo, that would be great. Also, if someone wants to add the link to the thread where we were first informed of the death, comments can be added there. I tend to think of this thread as a cemetery where each post is a headstone - a final acknowledgment to our friends.

Bill passed this morning just after 7. I had been with him since about 3 when the nurse called to let me know his oxygen levels and resperations were slowing if I wanted to be with him.

Thank you all for your support on this journey....
