PERCY SMITH RIP My Sweetie

This morning, the 23/12/2011 was the hardest thing i have had to witness on this cancer journey, my darling sweet father passed away, at home, surrounded by his family. It was not what i expected, it was harder to watch then i ever imagined. The nurses said it was painless for him, but every breath wrenched at my heart..
His journey is over, and i pray that his new one is not filled with the pain he has had to endure this year.
Thankyou eveyone who has sent cards and well wishes, the cards were always read out to him, and they still continue to arrive. The pallative care nurses were just amazed by the generosity given by this club.
I am heading off to his house to continue to greet his hundreds of Christmas followers who go and see his display each night.
So far im not crying, not sure why, i havent stopped screaming for the last 2 weeks.. and yet, im now content.
The pain is gone, the cancer is gone.. my love for my dad is endless..
RIP to the sweetest, most loving man i know... XXX

I am so so sorry. I couldnt sleep last night and was thinking of you and kept checking my phone in middle of the nite and saw it as a good sign when no news. I hoped you would not have to face this in these few days with the irony of your dads wonderful Christmas house. Trying to balance that beauty and fun and sense of wonder with the heartbreak you feel must be a huge task. I hope you have the strength to do it. As a child, we never want this day to come. We can only hope it happens to end pain and minimise suffering. I have no words of comfort but please know so many thoughts for you as a wonderful daughter.
