Thank you all for your kind words of love and remembrance of our beloved Jessica. I read last night the post she wrote the evening of her admission to ICU, saying I would be picking up the thread and keeping you posted...this broke my heart because if she asked me to do this, I do not remember. I have not come to the Colon Club prior to last night because I wanted Jessi to have a place to share her hopes and fears without worrying about filtering what she wrote because her mother was lurking. I am so glad you have been here for her. She gained so much strength from you, and she cared very deeply for the friends she made here.

Today was Jessica's birthday. She would have been 33. We gathered as a family, and among other things, we joined you in drinking a Pina Colada in her honor. (Using her wonderful recipe, of course!)

God bless you all, and thank you!

Hi Sherri-

We are so sorry about Jess. She was part of our "family" and we will miss her dearly. She loved her family so much and we enjoyed hearing all of her stories. She was a friend of mine on Facebook. I loved all of the pictures she posted of Lilli, Jay and the rest of her family. She was so proud of all of you.

Please accept my sincere condolences at this difficult time. I raised my glass this evening for Jess' birthday. God bless her and may she rest in peace.

Take care,

My dear Sherri:

How kind, and how lovely for you to send a message to all of us on the board. I guess we have an idea where Jess got her grace. You undoubtedly know how much we all loved your beautiful, kind, intrepid, wonderful daughter. I know you are an amazing woman to have raised your daughter to be the woman we all know and loved here. She will be so deeply, profoundly missed, in so many ways. I'd like you to know she helped so many of us through her encouraging, indomitable spirit. So many of us had very special relationships with her. I know that I will never forget her, and the way in which she inspired me, and even though I've been a mother for 35 years, I learned a number of things about mothering from her.

God bless you as you grieve the loss of your darling Jessica. I hope wonderful memories will sustain you as you pass through this part of her journey.

With admiration and respect,

Bev

Very sad about this. She was a kind person who didn't deserve this.
I'm just a dude who still can't believe he had a resection and went through chemo (currently 13 years NED). Is this real life?

Sherri,

My condolences are with you and your family and I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter. I sit here reading your post and tears fall down my face again for Jessica as she was just too young to have to have gone thru this.

Sherri, thank you so much for posting here. My deepest sympathies and prayers go out to you and your family. You raised an amazing daughter. She was loved so much here and we're really going to miss her. Take good care of that sweet little Lilliana and I hope one day when she's older you'll show her all of her mom's posts here.

Thank you for your post about your lovely daughter. Jessica was a special person to many here and to me she was unstinting in her care and support when my lovely daughter Deborah passed away in August 2011. Jessica was so kind and understanding and was just outstanding as far as I was concerned. Sherri, I know how sad you are right now, I can truly feel your pain. I send a gentle embrace to you and a shoulder to lay your head.....our daughters have passed away but are still in our hearts, this bond will never be broken.......
peace and love

Sherri

I can't believe in the midst of your grief you took the time to post. It is so easy to see where Jess got her strength from. Everyone here truly admired Jess and we all wanted her to get her much wanted and much deserved miracle. She shared herself with us all. We come here from all walks of life, from all over the world, at varying stages of our own journey of cancer, be it as patients or caregivers but everyone unites here in sharing lives, experiences & wishes. It was our collective wish for Jess that she would get through this. It is our collective loss she didn't. She shared so much, gave so much & through her incredible spirit, showed us so much.

Thinking of you all

Dear Sherri,
Thank you for taking the time to share with us....We love Jessica soooo much! My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. I love how you respected Jessica by not LURKING lol at her post her on CC.. If the roles were reversed I'm sure i would be snooping over my child's shoulder. This wonderful forum has helped so many of us...it is a special place to come share our feelings, concerns, questions, and receive this "understanding" of I know how you feel ..feelings.

I never thought I could come to a cyber world and form such great friendships with strangers..Your daughter had this amazing gift of presence...you could not help but be drawn to her. By Jessica taking us all on her personal journey it seemed like we rode all the hill's and valleys with her. We were able to feel the LOVE she had for her sweet baby..the LOVE for her family...but most important she was able show us what a STRONG, DETERMINED, COMPASSIONATE, woman she was.

I'm forever grateful for Jessica...Thank you for bringing this AMAZING gal into this world....

Dear Sherri,
Your daughter was an amazing woman. We loved her so much and we only knew her through her incredible posts. She loved her family so much. Miss Lilli stories always brought a smile to me. Your daughter was amazingly passionate about life.
I have been praying for your family throughout the day. You will all be in my heart tomorrow. I am saying a prayer for a beautiful service to honor Jess.
