My Mom is Gone

Postby tizme » Fri Oct 28, 2011 1:24 am

My beautiful, amazing mother passed away this morning at 630 am.

I don't know what else to add. I'm angry, sad and numb. But I am very greatful that the end didn't last long, and it gave us time to say our goodbyes, make arrangements, and for my mom to see all the people she has loved in the world and say her goodbyes.

I am disapointed that we weren't called in enough time to be able to help my mom go. The nurses told my sister that she had plenty of time to call us. And my sister had not done her research and did not realize that we should be called and that mom could go in an hour, or 24 hours.

So for all you caregivers out there, please make sure that you and any support people are as knowledgeable about the signs of moving on, as you are about the fight against cancer.

For anyone who wants to know, please pm me.

What an incredibly difficult time this must be for you and your family. I'm so sorry, especially that you didn't have a chance to say your final goodbyes. Treasure the memories that you made together. My deepest sympathies to you Tizme.

Tizme, I am so sorry for your loss. She left in the knowledge that she was loved and that's what matters.
I hope the anger and the sadness will soon be replaced with all the good memories of your time together and that special bond you had (and still have!). In your own time, allow yourself to feel all these emotions. All my thoughts. Liz

I'm so sorry. The end was quite fast, which is good because your mom didn't have to suffer long, but I'm sorry there wasn't more time for you to say goodbye. I hope your memories, and the knowledge that you did so much to help your mother in her final days, will bring you some peace.

Tizme, I am REALLY sorry for your loss!
After 8,5 years living with CRC, Pete passed away on 17/4/2012. We had lots of quality time, we said our goodbyes! I am at peace because he doesn't suffer anymore! He is now better off with the Lord! We will surely miss him very very much!!
