Loss of my sister

I am so sorry to read about your lovely sister. I too am grieving the loss of my beloved daughter Deborah who passed away on August 18.

Hi Tammy,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I have two sisters and I know there's no greater bond than sisters! It sounds like your sister fought very hard and you were there for her every step of the way. Being with her at the end was a gift to her and also to you (even though it hurts too much now to think of it that way). You did everything that you could and then some. I'm sure the time she spent with her sisters in Chicago was magical for her. I agree with CR Guy, she survived one day at a time and you will too. One day at a time is all we really have. Hold on to your precious memories of your sister (and your Dad) and move forward. That's what they would both want you to do. There is no time table for how long it takes to grieve and your grief is so new. Go with it, cry when you need to, be angry when you feel it...just let yourself feel each emotion all the way through. It sounds like you shouldn't have any regrets - you were the best sister when it mattered most. One day you will be able to think about your sister without crying and getting angry. And you'll smile and feel her spirit with you. Remember you will feel stronger when you are stronger and it will take as long as it takes. Prayers and love to you and your family! I am so terribly sorry. My sister, the mother of a 3 and 4 year old, was recently diagnosed. We also lost our parents young, so my heart breaks for you. You are in my thoughts and prayers. May you find comfort in your sister's spirit and in her memory.
