Tim passed away

Postby joeyooser » Fri Sep 16, 2011 1:12 pm

I am very sorry to let you know that Tim passed away earlier today. He passed away according to his wishes, at the hospice facility with only immediate family with him. The kids are amazing, both spent a considerable amount of time with him at hospice and saw him this morning before he died. They both chose to go back in and say goodbye after he passed away. They are immensely brave.

Tim never thought of cancer as a battle. He knew that there was only so much he could do, but his responsibility was to educate himself on the disease and treatment and ultimately make the best decisions possible. I see him as a fighter. When he first went on home hospice, they thought he wouldn't be here in a couple weeks. He lasted two months. When we moved him on Wednesday, the nurse didn't think he would make it to Friday. My dad said he trying to stay with you as long as possible.

I wanted to leave you with something our six year old said yesterday: "even with cancer, it can't stop love because love goes on forever."

Dear Lisa,

Your six year old summed it up perfectly. Tim's love will be with you and your children forever. I'm sure this is the most difficult time of your life. Your strength and Tim's love will help you heal and help get you past this difficult time. I don't need to tell you how much we all loved Tim. We could all see the love he felt for you and your children in his posts. We could all see how special he was. I'm not sure I'll ever understand the randomness of this disease.

Thank you for reaching out and letting us in. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

A lot of tears are going to be shed today. I've always felt the tears are more for those of us left behind than the one that has gone onto Heaven. I love what your 6 year old said, it is so true. Tim may no longer be here physically, but his spirit and love remains. My heart just aches for you. I've always like the Hallmark card - For every tear a memory. For every memory a smile. In time may you have lots of smiles when you think of Tim. Big HUGS.

What an insightful child you have. That is so true. Cancer can rob us of many things but not our love for one another!

My heart goes out to you and your family at this most difficult time. I am glad that Tim passed away under the conditions that he wanted and felt were best for your children.

May the many beautiful memories you have of your time together help to comfort you and yours.

Lisa, my thoughts are with you and your children. I lost my dad when I was 9, and I still miss him every day, but your little one is right - the love lasts forever, as do the memories. I'm so glad that you could all be together and say your goodbyes the way Tim wanted to.

Thank you for being a part of this community with us.

Lisa, I'll be praying for you and your children today. Tim was such a fighter, and the love he had for his family was loud and clear through his posts. I'm grateful that he was on the board to share his experiences.

Lisa,

From the mouths of babes.... your 6 year old is wise.

I guess it's nice to know Tim is no longer suffering but I can't even begin to imagine how you must feel right now. I wish you and your children peace. Please know as you grieve, your CC friends are thinking of you and honoring the memory of our sweet, kind, compasionate friend, Tim.

Bless you & your family,

Kathy
