Edward,

Thank you so much. I recieved your card and I thank you and the task force members for their support. Please give each a big hug for me in April.

I have had a low grade fever most of the week and am little anxious about Sunday.

The National Weather is forecasting snow, so the projected weather is less than desirable. I am hopeful that this is a case of the weather person being off the mark for weather is rather unpredictable in Nebraska in March. Despite such forecasts, I will ride. I have promised the citizens of Nebraska that I would do this and I will honor such regardless. It is all in one's perspective. A little frostbite much like the feeling I experienced while being rounded with Oxiplatin, is only temporary. I feel blessed to be healthy to spread awareness for Colon Cancer.

Remember that all things are possible and enjoy your ride in PA.

Hugs!

Holly

Snow Doesn't Stop Ride To Colon
Sunday, 19 March 2006
Omaha — An anticipated snowstorm held off long enough to let about a dozen riders begin their 34-mile "Rollin' to Colon" fundraising ride Sunday morning in Omaha.
With flakes falling fast and the pavement quickly turning from dark to white, Holly Rochelle (shown at left speaking with police before the event) and her brave band of cyclists set off from Cancer Survivor's Park just after 9 a.m., escorted by a flotilla of Omaha Police cruisers, a pair of support vehicles from Bike Masters and a rescue squad.

Rochelle only received clearance to begin the ride after consulting with Omaha Police, who were in communication with public works crews about the condition of Pacific Street. The planned route included nearly eight miles of riding west on Pacific, then a turn south on 180th to West Center Road enroute to Colon.

Hugs!

Good for you Holly. Let us know how the ride went. I hope the snow isn't too bad. Next Saturday we have a 5K walk/run-called Get Your Rear in Gear. It would be interesting to hear what other events are happening.

Going National

Postby Edward » Sun Mar 19, 2006 9:47 pm

Great job Holly....get your rest and were going national next year!!!!! I saw the TV clip you got two miles down. Don't get depressed, I never got the bike out on last year's Tour of Hope due to biblical rains. It is getting the message out. Some great things to tell you when you get back. Take care and good work.
