TP Alert

Postby JAZZToo » Mon Jul 04, 2011 8:03 am

If you are planning to visit Coney Island in New York City, you had better be prepared with your own toilet paper. According to today's NY Post newspaper, the city is so cash strapped that it's rationing toilet paper in women's public restrooms - bathroom attendants are handing out a few small squares per person. Toilet paper dispensers are empty and instead female beachgoers have to form "ration lines" in the bathrooms! One person commented "It's very weird that someone decides how much paper you get because they don't know what situation you're in" How true - especially for Colon Club members!!!!

Men don't have to stand on a ration line - there is neither paper nor attendants handing out any paper.

So, along with a blanket, cold beverages, snacks we must now bring our own TP.

There are attendants in the bathroom for safety reasons, i.e. prevent robbery, assault, drug dealing; and to prevent people from using it as a dressing room. When I used to go to Orchard Beach in the Bronx as a teenager back in the 1960's there were no doors on the ladies' stalls to make sure that no one used it as a dressing room. We used to go in pairs to the restroom, one girl would hold a towel across the stall opening while the other used the facility. At least now they all have doors.

Someone needs to explain to them that men sometimes need TP too. :|
I'm just a dude who still can't believe he had a resection and went through chemo (currently 13 years NED). Is this real life?

The toilet paper is so cheap anyway. How much can they really be saving?
I hope that it doesn't get like Mexico and where they charge you for toilet paper.
SHHH! Don't say anything -some politician in California will start charging for it.
I always carry T.P. in the car and the Cottonelle travel wipes in my purse.

I went into a restroom in Mexico and the woman handed me two sheets of TP. I only had a 1 dollar bill.
Yup..I know what you are thinking, it did cross my mind, but I gave her the dollar.

I'm Scottish and hubby swears that I still haven't got over the shock of the "most expensive TP in the world"

Note:...when in Mexico always carry your own TP

About fifteen years or so ago, before I had had colon cancer, my husband, children, and I were vacationing in Maine. We were staying at a place we had stayed before, a place with little cabins in the woods, but the cabins had full bathrooms, and the stay included towels, housekeeping services, etc. Well, this was our first experience where a hotel, motel, etc., seemed to be rationing toilet paper. We basically had to track down someone from housekeeping to get our toilet paper replenished (we ended up just going to a grocery store to buy a multi-pak). I learned a valuable lesson from that, I ALWAYS pack toilet paper in my suitcase, no matter where I go. I'll tell you, it's come in handy as most hotels seem to be following this trend. In fact, we went away for just one night a month ago, and sure enough, we had to use that extra roll of toilet paper I had packed. I always keep a little pack of facial tissues in my pocketbook, and another in the glove compartment of my car, but it might not be a bad idea to start storing a roll of toilet paper in the trunk of my car as well! What's the US coming to - attendants handing out squares of toilet paper. :(

I always carry my own TP, I don't like the quality of the paper in public rest rooms'. toughest roughest stuff EVER. I also carry baby wipes for sensitive skin and boy do I have sensative skin after radiation.

Hey' we need some Colun Club squirt water bottles to use for "cleaning". What a fundraiser those would be!
