Colytely/ NuLytely/ GoLytely/Trilytely

Is there any difference? The endoscopy folks are giving me a choice between which of these delights to get...

No-lytely if you ask me. That stuff made me puke almost as much as it made me crap, miserable. Any chance they'd agree to the miralax/gatorade prep? Works wonders for me, tastes like gatorade, doesn't make me boot like crazy and an all-around less miserable experience.

I've only done the HalfLytlie three blasted times and finally made I through without puking, lots of gagging though. Of course I still didn't finish the full dose... So can provide opinion.

There was a really good internet article that compare the volume drank, diet requirements and timing of a lot of different preps. If I find the link I'll post it.

Thanks everyone. Raygirl, if you can find that link, I'd love it. The endoscopy unit at Moffitt Cancer Center where I go doesn't seem very flexible about alternative products to the choices they gave me. Now they are wanting patients to split the bowel prep over 2 days (1/2 day before, and 1/2 early morning day of colonoscopy) because they say bowel is cleaner and they can consistently get clearer scan readings.

Found the article! It's from 2007 and it appears to only report two of your options. Might be able to get more current informatin for the manufacture's website.

I did a split prep last time - 12/2009. Much better for me - I did the Ducolax pills plus Half-lytely. But only had to drink half of the Half each day - much more tolerable for me.

The pills are contraindicated if you are over 55, taking ACE inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers, diuretics or NSAIDs. Just something to remember, although hopefully your GI doc will remember it for you.
