Blood again

Postby Guest » Sat Feb 25, 2006 8:22 pm

Hi. I'm 31, had resection surgery Nov of '05, stage II no lymph nodes involved. PET scan came back totally clean. Am going through oxy and xeloda right now for three months. Went to the bathroom and saw red streaks on the bowel movement. Help!! I'm freaking out. Has anyone else had this happen? Could I be having a recurrence so quickly? I'll definitely tell my doc, but any info from you guys will help out for the weekend!!

My advise would be to contact your physician immediately. I can appreciate your "freaking out". Be proactive.

Hugs!

When I was going through chemo and saw either the nurse practioner or onc before each session, that was always one of the first questions they would ask. If your blood counts drop, your blood may not clot well and you can have some bleeding. You can also have a bloody nose and red eyes. That does not mean you shouldn't tell your doctor. Anything going on they want to know.
