Question for all you stage 4 fighters...

Postby Becca » Thu Feb 16, 2006 1:27 am

I have just finished 6 months of chemo for my stage 4 CC. I started out with a large tumor on my colon (resected July 28th of 2005). I had 1/18 lmph nodes test pos. & I have 3 fairly small mets on the upper right lobe of my liver.) I am happy to report that my CT scan on Monday showed that the mets on my liver have decreased in size to the point that 1 is almost gone. My last CEA test, done Feb. 5th, was 1.5!!!!! I meet with a surgeon on the 22nd to discuss what to do about my liver. Things are going very well... my blood count where good the whole way thru treatment. My question is this... Has anyone else out there been in the same situation? I'm being cautiously optomistic. I'm just terrified that when I see the oncologist in March he's going to tell me that I have to go thru another round of chemo. I had a MISERABLE time with the first round. (Severe side effects & an eventual allergic reaction that resulted in a change of treatment.) I have a 14 month old daughter that I'm FINALLY starting to be able to keep up with. I'm stoked about the prospect of returning to work. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. My husband & I have no idea how to feel @ this point & the oncologist is keeping mum, which is driving me NUTS!!!
Thanks!!

Becca,

As a fellow stage IV CC survivor, I am so happy to hear that you have kicked a little cancer a#$! I have been cancer free since 2004.

Keep smiling and believe that all things are possible!

Hugs!

Holly
