Hi All,

Thank you for all your love and prayers, I have been keeping a quiet profile these days and more a lurker than an active particpant.
Things are going okay, CEA still rising, my eyes are very yellow and my liver is definitely not functioning well. It is still giving off a lot of fluid and I look 7 months pregnant, my feet/ legs have also started to swell so I have tree trunks where previously had skinny, skinny legs.
I go for chemo tomorrow (prayers that counts are good) as well as draining of my "baby"- I know this will just fill up quickly again but makes it more comfortable for me. Besides that been feeling pretty goo, energy levels are good but the whole leg/ belly thing makes it difficult to get around (esp after being at work for 6 hours and my feet are so swollen I can't walk.)

Hubby and I are going on a cruise next week, armed with all my pills, letter from Dr. and tons of insurance am determined to do as much as I can- with mandatory naps in the sun on deck....mmmm sun\

I will keep you all posted after tomorrow when we will decide to stick with FOLFOX or move to plan C.

Hugs all around

My thoughts are with you LeeT. I hope they can get things improved to the point where you can go on that cruise and have a pleasant time in the sun.

Talk to your onc about a diuretic to reduce the tree trunks and ascites.
My onc put me on spironolactone (50 mg x2 daily) which REALLY reduced the fluid to the point I can rest comfortably and see that my legs and ankles do, in fact, have veins.

Thank you SO much for letting us know how things are going with you. The cruise sounds 100 % fabulous...Enjoy ! Please watch the "sun" a bit though 'cos some of the chemo and meds make us more sensitive to the UV. Good excuse to get hubby and the staff to wait on you hand and foot, ...you know..."Sorry I need to stay under the umbrella right now"

(I hear you about the med insurance thing...don't get me started, but finally got a policy I was comfortable with and ventured south of the border 2 weeks ago...the wheels did NOT fall off... so might even do it again.)

Prayers and HUGE best wishes for good counts, good infusin' and megalicious happy cruisin'...!

Hi Lee,

Thanks so much for posting. I'm so sorry that things are still very tough. I hope it goes well getting rid of your baby and that your liver function picks up, such a pesky organ! What wonderful news that you and your husband are getting away for a bit. Have the best time ever!!! Lots of sunscreen and not too much alcohol (protect that goofy liver!)

Hope you can post a photo or two when you get back. Will be thinking of you in some nice warm weather!

Love, Bev
